-my hand

myhand
-my hand

one of the handiest things I learned as a child
was to have a ladder to climb out of the slums
of my Self
to look down in the third person and observe
and then to climb back down
and correct my navigation

one of the handiest things I learned as an adult
was to always have a hand reaching down, to help
others out

that hand has been spat on many times
it’s still there

-W.E.

he assumes he can hold me hostage
to a saying
to an action
to a sin

poor soul,
he doesn’t know I looked up
and saw vastness
and found it hard to wallow
in darkness

nay, he only holds himself hostage
by thinking he is armed
with some secret knowledge

-W.E.
